I would like to reiterate that my thinking has not changed; however, I have been able to leverage the current leadership knowledge I currently retain. As a result of the readings/videos, assignments and discussions I realized that situational factors can have a strong effect on leadership. There are many great leaders in the world, however, each leader's response and reaction to each situation may not be as great as others. Many characteristics come into play for leaders to be effective when addressing simple to chaotic issues. The type of person you are reflects the type of leadership style you will apply in the workplace. I have learned that the more versatile your leadership style/personality, the more effective you are at leading your team or organization. What important leadership insights did you gain from this course? Decision making is a critical skill to have as a leader. Employees want leaders they know they can trust, who are knowledgeable and can make effective decisions when needed. Nothing is more reliable than knowing that your leader can handle any situation, simple or chaotic, while ethically maintaining their professionalism in the workplace. It is vital that leaders are able to adapt to any situation and have no limits on how far they will go in supporting their team. As a leader, it is important to be prepared for any crisis. Most of the time it is not the leader's fault when a crisis occurs, however, answers are sought. The leader must be willing to address the situation, admit fault (if any), and provide a strategic plan that meets the needs of those affected by the situation. A strong leader will never give up; they remain committed to bringing their team… halfway… work experiences. The supplementary material was helpful as it helped reinforce the information in the textbook while improving my understanding. Was the textbook appropriate/useful/useful? The textbook was a great resource. It was easy to read and informative. I see myself keeping this textbook to reflect on my future courses. What advice would you give to improve this course? I've noticed in some of my previous online courses that there is an edit option in the discussion thread that allows you to fix a typo or add/delete information after hitting send. I think it's helpful to have this feature as an option for students if they need to go back and make corrections to their post. Overall, you are a great instructor. Your involvement and response times with the class are exceptional and I have enjoyed being your student, once again.
