IntroductionThe outcome of a situation can sometimes be determined by the choices that have been made. Decisions are made by individuals based on surrounding factors. The type of job or place of residence are some of the decisions that are made. Furthermore, you may be faced with problems that you need to solve in order to learn from them. In the business world, decisions are made based on the factors presented. Organizations can use the assistance of a decision support system to facilitate decision making. Mesa's Foundation TrustMesa's Foundation Trust (MFT) is a medical provider that provides services to patients. MFT wants to reduce the amount of resources provided by several other facilities. During this consolidation MFT's goal is to continue providing the same types of service and without impacting the amount of time. The need for a decision support system that can not only retain historical data, but also capture new data for analysis. As needed, IT support needs to build the DSS to handle semi-structured issues. Decisions made based on data provided are standard, but there will always be issues that fall outside the norm (Turban, Sharda, & Delen, 2011). There will be known data, but there will also be unknown data. The data should be collected in a database that provides management with the ability to analyze. The system must be able to collect the data provided and process the information in a format that decision makers understand.
