Even in today's modern society, characterized by advanced technologies and research methods, there are still people who believe that history has incorrectly recounted the horrific genocide of more than six million European Jews. These deniers are known as Holocaust revisionists. Now, these people don't believe that the Holocaust simply didn't happen. Instead, they believe that historians have exaggerated the death toll and made the death camps into something they were not. Some even believe that Hitler was wrongly portrayed as the bad guy. They think that Hitler was one of the best friends of the Jewish people and was of great help to them. Furthermore, the revisionists evoked the scandalous idea that the Jewish people were the real antagonist. The revisionists claim that the Jews wanted land in the Middle East, so they took the opportunity to shout to the world that they were oppressed and discriminated against. As a result, they received compensation from what is now known as Israel. Now, the above examples represent only a small percentage of the total number of revisionist ideas about how the Holocaust actually happened (Lipstadt). Holocaust revisionists strive to dispel the widely accepted idea of Jewish genocide during World War II. However, the plethora of evidence that historians have uncovered through war trials, film evidence, and written evidence, makes it blatantly obvious that the story has been told correctly. There are four arguments that the revisionists have conjured up that are completely illogical and absurd. The first is that the extermination camps used to massacre six million European Jews were not actual extermination camps at all. According to the revisionists, when the Sov... in the center of the card... is an extremely difficult concept to understand. However, the story must always be remembered correctly. Otherwise, as Geoffrey Keynes said, “history will repeat itself”. Works Cited Butz, Arthur. "A brief introduction to Holocaust revisionism". Institute for Historical Review.1991. Network.
