Intel Inside…….and Far Away Intel's geographically dispersed teams is that when team members live and work in different countries, time zones, cultures and languages “add complexity to the difficult tasks associated with successful work. Executive Summary We live in a digital age. Music, videos, phone calls and the consumption of information creation are all, by and large, made digitally. Much of this happens on the Internet. People use the Internet and its contents via computers: as the Internet becomes more sophisticated with, for example, films, music and podcasts, more computing power is required. Chips inside computers must keep up with that demand. Computer chips are essentially collections of tiny transistor electronic devices that control the flow of electricity to create the 1s and Os that underlie computation. Intel is the world leader in silicon innovation. Silicon is made from superheated purified sand. Produced as a huge sausage-like shape called an ingot. It is cut into wafers. Intel is best known for producing the chips that provide this increased computing power. Chips are produced on these wafers. Transistors are the building blocks of the computer chips that Intel has been producing for 40 years. Intel has been working to make these transistors smaller so they can fit more edges onto the same area of silicon, making the chips more powerful. This came at a price. Until recently, the smaller the transistors, the hotter the chips tended to run. In 2007 Intel developed a breakthrough in that the materials used to build transistors work faster and can also do so while generating less heat. Intel has begun using this new material for this... middle of paper... commitment to continuous innovation and R&D investments in product and manufacturing technology ensure competitiveness and growth. This culture enables people who have the same values and the same way of life (attitude). Culture is learned by oneself and this concept begins to develop through the interface with others. This concept is based on people living in the same culture. Organizational and national cultures are different concepts where national cultures differ more in values but at the organizational level they differ in symbols. When analyzing different national cultural concepts through Hofstede's dimensions, national culture is complicated due to regional ethical groups.
