Some families may seem more civilized or functional than others, but that doesn't mean that struggling families don't have less important personal values. One of the most crucial things that family members should provide for each other is love. A popular phrase used to demonstrate the power of love is “motherly love.” The reason is that most of the time a mother sacrifices herself infinitely for her children without anything in return. Without love there would be no bonds and without bonds there would be no true relationships that make up a family. Furthermore, we are not obliged to love everyone and unfortunately love is not always present in the family environment, but something that should always be present and is the key factor in the functioning of a family is respect. It doesn't matter if it's respect between spouses, siblings or children and parents; everyone deserves respect.
