When a doctor goes to tell a family that their relative has died, in some cases, it may not be true. It might be the truth for a couple of moments, but in an instant they might go back to the lively person they were before. Many people have told stories of things that have happened to them, when they were close to death or when they have already been declared dead. They return to the modern world and tell their stories of what happened to them while they were on the border between life and death. “At least five and perhaps as many as thirty-five out of every hundred people have had an out-of-body experience in their lives” (“Out-of-Body Experiences and Lucid Dreams”). More people than those covered in the news have experienced such events in their lives. Coming back to life or having an out-of-body experience is an event that some people have gone through. An out-of-body experience (OBE) is something that can happen when someone is declared dead, undergoes surgery, or even when they are perfectly healthy. “Out-of-body experiences are personal experiences during which people have the sensation of perceiving the physical world from a place outside their physical body” (“Out-of-Body Experiences and Lucid Dreaming”). The justification of out-of-body experiences can be taken both from a scientific point of view and from a spiritual point of view. Scientists have an explanation for why such an event can occur. “They begin when a person loses contact with sensory input from the body while remaining conscious” (“Out-of-Body Experiences and Lucid Dreams”). The person is aware of everything around him, but cannot control his five senses. It is almost like a dream and a person feels disconnected from their body.
