Strategy AssignmentKathy Kudler is the creator of Kudler Fine Foods. Kathy's primary goal in creating KFF was to create a retail store that provided a selection of gourmet foods to meet the needs of the typical person, all within one store. Kudler Fine Foods offers a wide variety of foods. The many different departments include gourmet baked goods, dairy, cheese, wine, organic and non-organic sections, fresh meats and seafood. Additionally, the three different stores will offer cooking classes as well as monthly customer appreciation classes on cheese and wine. Some of these services will be extended to the private residence sector. Adding to the list of services offered, KFF has just added a new catering service in an effort to attract new customers and increase revenue from its existing customer base. There have been some recent operational changes at Kudler that will be beneficial to the success of their stores. Kudler is able to increase its profitability by using operational strategies such as contracting with local organic producers, creating a purchasing department, and using marketing tools. The purpose of this document is to identify business opportunities created due to changes in the use of technology. Additionally, this document will show Kudler Fine Foods' overall strategy, how to implement it, and the role the management team will play in keeping Kudler Fine Foods competitive in the refined foods industry. Changes in Technology In today's world, technology never seems to stop changing. This technology can be beneficial to Kudler Fine Foods and can help elevate its company to the next level. Studies show that thanks to new technologies there has been a significant improvement in profitability and an increase in the vitality of companies (Turban, Rainer and Potter, 2003). Kudler currently has a standard website that provides detailed store locations, store hours, and provides descriptions of the various departments within the stores. Kudler also uses an Intranet. The company's intranet provides information on Kudler's supply chain, Kudler's employee handbook, sales and marketing strategies and past financial data. Each of Kudler's individual stores will contain networked POS systems connected to a main computer system. Kudler is able to use the most technologically advanced systems to develop the activities of the company as a whole and in each individual point of sale.
